The Youngster's Unexpected Return
At least one man kept smiling amid the chaos. Matteo Cancellieri had not been expected to remain with Lazio this year. He spent the previous campaign on loan at Parma and, at the start of the off-season, Lazio were advocating for him to remain there a while longer. The signing restriction led to a change of plans. Cancellieri arrived in the first place when Sarri was last in charge, then a 20-year-old alumnus of Verona's academy. Maybe Sarri was continuing to attempt to identify the exact type of the player's talent.
