Around twenty-five thousand residences in southeastern Queensland were left experiencing outages on Monday's dawn after severe thunderstorms impacted the state, bringing strong winds reaching 109km/h.

Locals observed giant hailstones as large as seven centimeters in certain regions. The Bureau of Meteorology verified that multiple regions across the state had been impacted by large hailstones.

State Emergency Services handled 598 emergency reports across the area, primarily for property damage but also for fallen timber and flooding.
