One extended cruise through Australia was terminated in the wake of the death of an senior female passenger who was abandoned by the cruise liner on a remote tropical isle.

The passenger had been trekking on the remote island with other travelers from the cruise ship, but separated from the party for a rest. The ship left without her and went back after some time after the personnel became aware the lady was not present.

An extensive search operation found her remains the following day.

Authorities are investigating the event, together with police and the medical examiner.

Chief Executive of the voyage organizer stated that travelers and personnel on the vessel were notified that the remainder of the journey had been called off due to the "tragic passing and previous engine troubles".

Via official communication, he mentioned that passengers would be given a total repayment, and said the organization was working "to organize the homeward trips of the individuals via specially arranged planes".
